Wearable Textile-based Sensor Systems
Dr. Jörg Habetha - Philips Research Europe, Germany
Dr. Andreas Lymberis - European Commission, Belgium
The tutorial session on Wearable Smart Textile Systems and Applications will give an overview of technology research and application activities developed under the group of EU funded projects in the area, so called
"SFIT (Smart Fabric & Interactive Textile) Cluster".
The session will not only address technical research topics but also potential applications of the technology e.g. healthcare, civil protection, disaster situation management and sport applications. This will be illustrated in particular with the example of the MyHeart project, which has the aim to fight cardiovascular diseases by prevention and early diagnosis. During the session MyHeart application concepts in the area of disease management for heart failure and neurological patients as well as general prevention will be presented.
